tac light on a 1985 45-70

For camping in bear country, I figured it's be a good idea to have a light on the front of my bear/outback gun. It is a Marlin 1895 in 45-70, with a compensated barrel. Nice little gun, rides in a sheath on my backpack (see other pics.)

That's a cool set-up - I have the same rifle. I use it in the Alaskan backcountry and to ward off the homeless in and around my place. I want to know more about the sheath you use to carry it on your pack. I can never figure out a way to have it on my pack and easily accessible, so I end up holding it. How much ammo do you take with you camping? It's so heavy!

I have al;ways loved the 45-70 round for sub 200 yards it will take out everything from a deer to a bear to a buson to a truck. and that tac light is a really good Idea. I did that with my home defense shotgun. It the light was on it was would the shot be.
