This picture shows how we built the bed frame. I used 2 by 2.5 inch boards and 3/4 inch plywood and covered it all with light weight grey carpet. The carpet keeps splinters from happening and makes it look nice. The mattress is being stored in the house .

This picture shows the front of the bed frame and the other half of the tote storage. We can stow 8 full size totes under the bed frame . That leaves the entire area from the bed to the seats for coat hangers, coolers, chairs, table etc. You can fit a lot of stuff in 8 big totes. There is also more room on the sides under the little compartments for long stuff like poles, rifles, right in besiudes the totes.

The base gun cost me $50, stock $70, scope $50, Bipod $25, custom camo paint job another $30. The results; priceless. With the 29" barrel it'll shoot any ammo well, even 40 year old surplus ammo. When I set this down in the woods, you forget about it because it blends in so well. Blends well in a desert environment too (it took me a while to figure out the right colors and pattern to do both.)

For camping in bear country, I figured it's be a good idea to have a light on the front of my bear/outback gun. It is a Marlin 1895 in 45-70, with a compensated barrel. Nice little gun, rides in a sheath on my backpack (see other pics.)
