So, if things got so bad you and your family had to turn to cannibalism, would you have a preferance for dark meat or light meat? Would people who ate at fancy restaurants taste better than the fat guy who ate at McDees?
Anyone have any good recipies for truck driver?

Re: Eating Raul
Sat, May 3, 2008 - 7:17 AMCook thin people like wild game cook fat people like pork(no foolin') although if things have gotten that bad there will probably be a decided lack of fat people.vegetarian will probably taste best as they are half way to prey anyway. ;-D -

Re: Eating Raul
Sat, May 3, 2008 - 10:44 AMDogs, cats and pidgeons all require low, slow, moist cooking techniques. all could be wrapped in leaves and then placed inside clay and cooked with coals. or a slow oven with brazing liquid. Dog is about the driest meat I've ever eaten if just roasted over a fire. Cat is good breaded and fried if marinated first. Pidgeon is like any game bird and too low in fat to cook like chicken. If you brine it first you can grill it. If you need anymore tips I'll happily help.

Sat, May 3, 2008 - 7:31 AMThat's what we said about vegetarian's on boating trip's. That if thing's went bad, we were eating the grain fed people first. lol

Re: Eating Raul
Sat, May 3, 2008 - 8:31 PMI bet fat chick meat is very tender. I'm told once you've had it, you never go back. Or maybe they were referring to something else? -

Re: Eating Raul
Sun, May 4, 2008 - 10:11 AMI've seen bumper sticker's that say "save a cow, eat a fat girl" -

Re: Eating Raul
Sun, May 4, 2008 - 4:04 PMWhat do you use as a Truck Driver or Fat Girl marinade? -

Re: Eating Raul
Mon, May 5, 2008 - 9:39 AMTruck driver might do well with a nice, calm marsala wine. All those caffeine pills and energy drinks in the meat are gonna make you jumpy.
Fat chick is best grilled. Too blubbery for marinating, you end up with a greasy mess unless you grill it. -

Mon, May 5, 2008 - 8:24 PMGreat most people around here already think I am a nut case, now every time I see a Fat Chick I am going to bust out laughing -

Re: Eating Raul
Tue, May 6, 2008 - 8:58 PMFat girls have feelings too! And usually they feel pretty good :)
Seriously though, as Curtiss pointed out, there'd probably not be a lot of fat folks at that point.
Curtiss; I thought dog was kinda greasy when cooked over coals. Cat is very similar to rabbit. The leaf wrap is way cool, I've had goat cooked that way and the stuff just falls off the bone. Mmmmmm -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: Eating Raul
Tue, May 6, 2008 - 9:00 PMYou know what would really suck about an EOW situation? Spices!
Without a world economy you'd be down to salt and pepper in an awful hurry. It'd be back to the days of only rich people being able to afford spices. -
-
Re: Eating Raul
Tue, May 6, 2008 - 10:11 PMUnless you grow your own. Then you'd be one of the rich people!
You wouldn't want very many spices anyways. Consider the following:
Imagine a sea of starving, famished humans, willing to beat each other to death for caught rats and roadkill...willing to KILL for a few cans of food.... and all of a sudden, the aroma of chile con carne and roasted chicken, with a side of fresh buttery sweet cornbread, wafting across the neighborhood breezes from your chimney and well-stocked larder. -
-
Re: Eating Raul
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 1:21 PMYou could use the aroma as a lure to bring in fresh meat. It'd be like Motel Hell. -

Re: Eating Raul
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 1:31 PMdepending on the scenario that plays out, they expect about 50% of the population to be dead in a matter of days, the military and police would see about a 60% reduction in their forces due to taking care of their own. -

Sun, May 11, 2008 - 3:38 PMI would love to know if others have had this happen. In other areas of the country and with similer situations. -

Re: Eating Raul
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 7:43 PMWe drove from Bullhead City to pass Holbrook this weekend. We saw dozens of trucks hauling military vehicles west. Now I am wondering whats going on? -

Re: Eating Raul
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 8:10 PMNational Training Center is out that way. Army trains their troops out there.
When I was in the service I used to participate in an exercise every year, in that we would play games after an attack or civil unrest in the US.
The scenario was that we would have a 60% reduction in force due to AWOLs and desertions going home to take care of their familys. -
-
Re: Eating Raul
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 8:15 PMHere's something to chew on....
In the event of an anticipated time of extreme civil unrest, or famine, a good way to curb the AWOL percentage is to make sure the troop's families are well fed and taken care of.
In fact, if food were scarce, you could coerce a soldier to enforce many questionable things against his own countrymen, as long as you held the lifeline to his family's food supply.
Armed forces have never diverted this kind of energy or money towards food storage. Something is definitely coming down the pipeline. This is not a 'precautionary measure' it's a preparatory measure. Make no mistake about that.
PACK YOUR RICE. IT'Z COMING. -

Re: Eating Raul
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 8:19 PMAnd do yourself a favor. It's the cardinal rule but cannot be reiterated too many times. Do not advertise your preparations to people in your area.
'Fringe survivalists' may one day be known as 'hoarders' who'se buying practices are contributing to the scarce supply of a famine situation. I've seen that spin in the media already, many times before. Hoarders could have their supplies confescated and re-distributed in the interest of 'greater good of country'.... Iminent domain.

Re: Eating Raul
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 8:21 PMThe military barely takes care of your family as it is. Remember we have other family than just our wives and children. We have Mothers and Fathers, Aunts and Uncles, pet dogs and pot belly pigs. After 22 years the last people in the world I want taking care of my Family is the Military. -

Re: Eating Raul
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 8:30 PMI was watching a thing on YouTube the other day about how they are conditioning the military and police to violate your civil rights. Most military folks are true Patriots and believe in the oath of service, I personally could not obey an order to violate an Americans Civil Rights, there are provisions in the Uniform Code of Military Justice that allows me to violate an unlawful order.

Mon, May 12, 2008 - 6:36 AMWhat puzzles me about the military issuing generator's to soldier's family is, where are they all going to get the gas to run these generator's? I guess the soldier's can get the gas hoarded at the bases or something.
