Sat, December 15, 2007 - 5:24 PMIf a Hillary is elected President before her first term is over. Worst case secenario is we will fiest have an explosive increase in illegal Latin/Hispanic immigrants and then the Chinese will probably invade with Hillary's blessing. The Clintons have taken enough money from China to make me think this is possible.I'm going hermit and living off the land if she is elected. -

Re: what's going to happen?
Mon, December 17, 2007 - 3:53 PMI've been studying the Chinese angle for years, now. I doubt there will be a Chinese "invasion", exactly. More than likely it will be a Chinese "occupation" of parts of the U.S. after an escalation of armed hostilities initiated by Washington.

Re: what's going to happen?
Sat, December 15, 2007 - 6:48 PM1) The value of your dollar is plummeting, so the cost of everything imported is going to go up and then gradually everything produced in the USA as it uses resources from outside the USA.
2) your manufacturing base is going to keep shrinking, which is going to lead to greater unemployment and more imported junk driving small businesses out of business, leading to massive unemployment as small business is the biggest employer.
3) The greater unemployment will lead to greater social unrest. The USA is a competitive country where screwing other people is seen as okay. Result, an increase in home grown violence and unrest.Retrain as a grave digger or ambulance driver or hospital orderly.
4) Oil restrictions will start to bite heavily. China is doing a far better job of wooing other countries for their oil supplies and it doesn't screw them over via the world bank like theUSA has been. Result is that oil supplies to the USA will be heavily restricted and the cost of your gas/petrol will start to approach what other people pay elsewhere.
5) Log term, fail to admit that the population of the USA uses far more of the worlds resourcesthan its population entitles it to willlead to trade and other sanctions against the USA. You will start importing advisores from Cuba on how to survive. -

Re: what's going to happen?
Sat, December 15, 2007 - 8:38 PMAll of that leads up to a wonderful bed for a depression to make '29 look like thanksgiving.
Who wants to bet we are forced to cutback our military operations and forces dramatically? I wonder where that middle-eastern fight will go after we pull our troops out and give them some breathing room to regroup and buy plane tickets?
I've seen a lot of well-put-together theories on how NON-viable a biological war would be, and that nobody short of a madman would wage such a war due to risk of self and one's own country... How about several factions of madmen who have proven time and time again that they would gladly sacrifice themselves, their families, and their friends, to kill the infidels?
I may very well be the only person here who did not adopt the survivalist philosophy from years of watching world events unfold.... I adopted it because of some specific dreams I've had, and it has slowly been reinforced as I watch events unfold to lay the groundwork for those scenarios I've dreamed about.
To get back to the kernel of the thread, how do I think it will go down?
first, widespread civil unrest. more specifically, people frustrated with the restrictions that they've imposed upon themselves... political correctness choking freedom of speech, gun laws disarming all but the criminals, taxes and goods prices that the economy can no longer support.... and a general latent hatred in most people, for the strangers around them every day, secretly always blaming 'the other guy' and various groups of opposing ideology, and the government.
second, economic collapse here and one other major global economy (I don't know which one it is in the dreams, but I know it happens relatively the same time as the U.S.), which destabilizes the economy worldwide to varying degrees.
Third, a coordinated biological attack here and in a few other key places on the globe, with disease spreading and eventually affecting all but the most remote corners and quarantined pockets, mostly small towns with closed and guarded entrances.
in my dreams, there is a long period of time where people are starving, neighbors willing to rob each other for food. In fact, throughougt MOST of the events in my dreams, a major concern is lack of food. (because of this I am very much an advocate of at least one year food supply as any 'serious' level of food storage, not just a month or two in the pantry but a cellar room of food.)
nuclear war
chinese invasion.
this sequence of events is what I predict, I guess mainly 'cause it's what I have dreamed about since years before 9/11 or Y2K, since I was a little boy even. that book I tried to post a thread about, had a very similar sequence of events, with several other events and details as well. Call me crazy but I'll throw my chips in with that book, if for no other reason than the uncanny match with it, and my subconscious repeating imagery.
As for timing predictions? Once again, since we're all playing the guessing game here, I'll throw down my chips at around eight years from now, give-or-take, because that's the approximate age I've always been in those dreams. -
-
Re: what's going to happen?
Sat, December 15, 2007 - 8:52 PMThousand, Why don't you post the title of that book again. There may be a few folk's that didnt see it on the other thread. The one that got car-jacked.haha -

Re: what's going to happen?
Sat, December 15, 2007 - 9:14 PMIt's called ''There Is No Death'' by this lady named...hang on let me dig it up.. Sarah LaNelle Menet
Basically, it's about this lady who hated her life and killed herself, some kind of prescription drug overdose I think. pronounced dead at the scene and later came back miraculously. It's a very, VERY detailed account of her experiences in the afterlife. Most of the book has to do with that stuff, but toward the back, she talks about visions she was shown regarding the big ending of things. This book really hit me hard, my wife (then girlfriend) learned about my dreams and she insisted I read this book, which I eventually did. Everything this lady talks about, is the same or extremely similar to the timing and order of many of my dreams. I understand this wouldn't mean much to anyone else perhaps, but I remember this book really stirred something in me, given my own experience... and I guess to re-hash a bit, my own experience in this regards would consist of persistent, very vivid and very detailed dreams about the collapse of society. These dreams are eerily coherent, and have stayed sharp in my memory, ten years and more for some. The last one I ever had was august 2006, I dreamed one dream in which I was shot after a confrontation with a starving man who wanted my food supply. Later that day in my waking life, a stranger gave me a ballistic vest. It was the first time I tried on the idea that these dreams might mean something important to me, not just dreams. No sooner had I tried on that idea, than I felt a very peaceful resolve, like someone had been arguing a point to me and I finally GOT it... I've been into survivalist preparation ever since, and I haven't had any more dreams. I don't expect I ever will again, I get the point now.

Re: what's going to happen?
Wed, March 26, 2008 - 6:37 PMOne thing we as Americans fail to recognize is that half of our greatness is the endless resources we posess. However, they really are not endless and when they run out we will be just like all the other has been, usta be Alpha Nations that have come before us...a historical footnote. The question is; how long can we stretch it?

Re: what's going to happen?
Sun, December 16, 2007 - 12:45 AMAs an old saying goes, the end won't come as a bang, but a whimper.
I feel that we're experiencing the collapse in the form of a rolling snowball. Its going to start sutle, then all of a sudden, it'll be there.
Sad to say, American will be the first to fall, then the world. The great depression of the 1920's will look like easy times.
Take a look at the dollar. 20 years ago it was one of the strongest currancies, now its a joke. Where I work in Kuwait, one kuwaiti dinar is worth $3.64 American as of today. Hell, even the Europe Euro is worth %25 more than the American.
So yes, we are seeing a collapse, and if nothing is done, it will get much worse.

Re: what's going to happen?
Tue, December 18, 2007 - 1:52 PMyea me too. That's a big part of the necessary groundwork. Racism, class-resentment, religious differences (hostile ones) and all the other trappings of 'political correctness' in it's many thought-censoring forms. People have to have some pretty nasty latent disagreeances and frustrations before they can de-humanize each other enough to morally justify the things that often happen in a social collapse.
It's the room full of gas. Economic instability, or a plague, or a famine, they are just the spark. A truly moral, cohesive, responsible society will always weather such calamities and pick themselves back up together. it takes a smothering ammount of political correctness and frustration to allow a disaster to become a collapse.

Thu, December 27, 2007 - 9:23 PMLOL.... As if the entire planet doesn't already complacently subsist under different governmental tyrannies.... I think it would take a very abrupt stripping of human rights to trigger any kind of revolution, and I think just about every government out there is smart enough to avoid that historical mistake and opt for the more gentle, tried-and-true slow approach. We could all sit here and right books about all the rights that we, as americans, have lost in the last 50 years, and all the restrictions applied to our activities... but I think you get the point. -

-
Re: what's going to happen?
Sat, December 29, 2007 - 9:46 AMsure, it COULD happen. But I think if those nukes ended up in the wrong hands, a whole lot of governments would become keenly interested in removing those 'hands' from the nukes. They'd have to push the red button right away to ruin anyone's day, and I don't think there's any factions in that country with that sort of agenda. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
-
Re: what's going to happen?
Sat, December 29, 2007 - 9:55 AMif the military fractures along ideological lines then there could be a problem. Most, if not all of 's nukes are disassembled (component form). Granted it wouldn't take long to re-assemble, but that would require some serious members of the military to break away. Of course if civil war erupts we may have a different situation.

any-way...
I'm surprised more didn't mentioned a viral or other biological outbreak with all the cloning and genetic modification reported lately (glow in the dark pigs? cloning cows for milk and beef?)
I have to agree with daniel and others that realistically it would likely be a matter of several different causes, triggering a domino effect. each crisis being harder to manage due to the sapped resources from the prior crisis. I don't really see a country-wide or world-wide complete annihilation though, unless there is something massive and catastrophic like nukes or enormous environmental/weather disaster. -

Re: what's going to happen?
Tue, April 15, 2008 - 8:33 PMAgreed. The biggest threat right now is war with Iran. If that happens all
hell would reign. Iran has the ability and armaments to stop all ME oil from
flowing through the Gulf of Hormuz. By various estimates, that is anywhere
from 27% to 35% of the worlds oil.
That leads to a collapsed world economy. Which leads to the doubling or
even tripling of fuel for trucks to get supplies to market. Which leads to
people panicking and rioting. Which could lead to a trigger happy
administration declaring martial law.
China has over a billion mouths to feed and we are now witnessing food
riots in several countries. India has another billion.
Iran also has the ability to hit back with massive retaliatory strikes upon
our homeland making 911 look pale in comparison.
With war raging most other concerns take a back seat. H5H1, which has
already been documented to spread human to human (in family clusters),
looms under the radar. Most of the energies and time and money spent on
monitoring and preventing the spread will be reduced.
One incident can easily lead to many more. -

Re: what's going to happen?
Thu, April 17, 2008 - 7:46 PMHEy.... that reminds me of the book I read that I posted about back in the THOR days..... this lady, she claims to have seen visions of the end of the world...bay back in the 80's...she talked about two tall buildings falling in new york, among many other things...she also mentioned a nuclear holocaust (preceded by many other things in the book) ...the catalyst? an IRANIAN nuclear missile fired at Israel, but the missile, she claims, was hidden and launched from within the borders of Lybia. That book creeps me out every time I think about it. Very uncanny.

Re: what's going to happen?
Wed, March 19, 2008 - 8:48 AMIMHO I think the end of cheap oil will trigger an economic depression. We have peaked at oil production and demand is soaring. Today gasoline is $3.20 per gallon in the USA. In Europe it is twice that. By this time next year expect it to climb to $4.20+ and when it gets to $10-$20 per gallon people will start to freak out.
The division of the haves and have-nots will increase and we will see a shrinking middle class. The global elites already realize what will happen and have planned accordingly. G-8 summits are the beginning of the New World Order.
Bush is proceeding with the North American Union which will make Canada, the US, and Mexico all one country basically. If you thought NAFTA was a bad idea wait until you learn about the Trans Texas Corridor, the 4000 mile, 584000 acre, $184 billion mega-project of TxDOT. It's shocking just how few Texans know about this massive super-highway-rail-utility project launched by Governor Perry in 2002. Ten vehicle lanes, six rail tracks, utilities, pipelines, state concessions (gas stations, restaurants, motels, stores, warehouses, etc.) all on 4,000 miles of toll roads that will consume more than one-half million acres of Texas.
All of which are TOLL ROADS built and paid for by GOVERNMENTS that are NOT the USA. These governments are trying to collect on debts we owe them. So Texans get their land stolen by eminent domain and it is sold to the highest bidder...some lease the land for 99 years + and get to collect TOLLS for 99 years +. We are essentially selling the land of the USA.
Now you say big deal I don't live in Texas...there are plans for these TOLL roads throughout the USA. The Trans Texas Corridor goes up to Kansas City and connects with other "projects". And get this the first checkpoint for cargo is in Kansas City...so a crate can travel from Mexico thru Texas all the way to Kansas before it is checked for the first time!
Sorry to hijack this thread I got on a roll.
So after the depression it will be easy to institute martial law and have the US armed forces working for the global elites. Putting "patriots", err terrorists, in concentration camps and continuing education "the dumbing down of americans" i.e. brainwashing. The global elites will be concerned with overpopulation so I imagine there will be death camps as well...kinda like Nazi Germany.
That's just IMHO what might happen... but lets not rule out the other scenarios;
Loose Nukes
Aliens
Biological or Plague
World War 3
Meteor / Comet
Armageddon
Artificial Intelligence
Global Warming
Etc Etc Etc...
