I was just wondering if anyone was planning to watch Spike TV's new series Surviving Disaster? It starts tomorrow night and it looks like it might be interesting.
From www.spike.com : What will you do when disaster strikes? Spike TV's new original series Surviving Disaster, led by Navy SEAL Cade Courtley, vividly takes viewers through catastrophic scenarios and arms them with the knowledge needed to survive the unthinkable. Courtley tackles worst-case scenarios and equips viewers with the practical information needed to save their own lives and the lives of their loved ones. Whether the threat is natural or man-made or on a national or personal level, Courtley speaks directly to the viewers and guides them through a comprehensive, step-by-step process to not only survive the big picture disaster, but endure the many dangerous obstacles that may occur within each catastrophic event. While leading viewers out of danger, Courtley not only provides helpful tips and hands-on instruction, but swiftly points out common misconceptions and fatal mistakes. Unlike any other series, Surviving Disaster may actually save lives by providing actions that anyone can perform.

Re: Anyone going to watch Spike's Surviving Disaster?
Wed, September 2, 2009 - 10:20 AMI watched it last night. I was a little disapointed at first because they were talking about surviving a plane hijacking. I don't fly. I flew twice, once in '78 and once in '80, both being bad flights. So I don't fly. I watched the show anyway. I got more and more interested as it progressed because there were things that would apply to other situations too. Like how to take down a terrorist without a traditional weapon and how to subdue them. How to use everyday items ad weapons, etc. I liked the way the show is done. I liked the way Cade spoke directly to the audience. I think there's some little tidbit everyone could find from this show. In my unexperienced survivalist mind it was a good show. I plan to catch it next week for sure. So far I like it. -

Wed, September 2, 2009 - 4:48 PMI learned that 121.5 is the radio channel to turn to on a plane. Otherwise I have already figured out all the other stuff.
